Lexus has taken its name out onto the water. The LY680 is a 20.63-metre yacht built with Horizon Group. Introduced in Japan in 2024, it was announced for wider international markets on 25 September 2026. [1]
More room in the sun
The yacht is an evolution of the LY650. The upper outdoor living area, known as the flybridge, has been extended by around 1.4 metres. The bathing platform aft has gained a further 70 centimetres. These are changes to the places where guests spend time close to sun and sea, rather than simply a new shape for the hull. [1]
In the material from the launch, Lexus described space for a lounge sofa and the option of a grill on the flybridge. Horizon Group’s boatbuilding was also linked with production methods from Toyota. Two rather different worlds meet here: the carmaker’s work with design and repeatable processes, and the shipyard’s experience of large leisure craft. [2]
Lexus’ September 2026 specification states three cabins with space for six overnight guests and a total passenger capacity of 15. The figures describe different uses and should not be confused with 15 berths. [1]
The international sales expansion is to be marked at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show from 28 October to 1 November 2026. This is not the yacht’s first debut: Lexus states that its world debut took place in March 2026. [1]
Figures that make the scale tangible
Lexus lists a beam of 5.76 metres, two Volvo Penta IPS engines and a 4,012-litre fuel tank. The fresh-water tank holds 852 litres according to the specification. These figures do not describe an experience on their own, but they show that the LY680 is equipped for more than a short trip out of harbour. Lexus also stresses quietness and stability aboard; that is the maker’s description, not our sea trial. [1]
