The Lexus name normally belongs on a car. On the LY680, it sits on a yacht measuring 20.63 metres, built in collaboration with Horizon Group. On 25 September 2026, Lexus announced an expansion into international markets after its introduction in Japan in 2024. [1]
The yacht is an evolution of the LY650. The upper outdoor living area, known as the flybridge, has been extended by around 1.4 metres. The bathing platform aft has gained a further 70 centimetres. These are changes to the places where guests spend time close to sun and sea, rather than simply a new shape for the hull. [1]
In the material from the launch, Lexus described space for a lounge sofa and the option of a grill on the flybridge. Horizon Group’s boatbuilding was also linked with production methods from Toyota. Two rather different worlds meet here: the carmaker’s work with design and repeatable processes, and the shipyard’s experience of large leisure craft. [2]
Lexus’ September 2026 specification states three cabins with space for six overnight guests and a total passenger capacity of 15. The figures describe different uses and should not be confused with 15 berths. [1]
The international sales expansion is to be marked at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show from 28 October to 1 November 2026. This is not the yacht’s first debut: Lexus states that its world debut took place in March 2026. [1]
There is no price in the press materials used. What is clear, however, is the story in the object itself: a car brand whose design ideas can now be experienced from a lounge high above the waterline.
