Some pieces of jewellery are made to be seen in one way. Tiffany & Co.’s Sea Turtle from Blue Book 2025 is designed to change role: a hidden mechanism makes it possible to wear it as both a pendant and a brooch. It is a concrete, mechanical idea at the heart of a collection that otherwise is primarily about the forms and colours of the sea. [1]
Sea of Wonder was developed under Tiffany’s jewellery director Nathalie Verdeille. The collection draws inspiration from organic forms beneath the surface of the sea and spreads them across, among others, turtles, waves, seahorses and underwater flora. [1]
Craft as illusion
In the images, the turtle appears almost alive, but the key point is the interplay between stone setting, surface and the invisible function that lets the owner change how the piece is worn. The fact that the transformation can be hidden in such a detailed object is part of the point. [1]
Other pieces in the series show a different kind of extravagance. Tiffany describes a Wave necklace with more than 17 carats of cuprian elbaite tourmalines. The Ocean Flora necklace uses Zambian emeralds for a more botanical interpretation of the underwater world. [1]
This is high jewellery, and the price is not stated in the press release. So this is a look at the idea and the craftsmanship, not an assessment of investment value or a sales pitch.
