The original Lexus LFA is remembered as much for its sound as for its shape. The LFA Concept, presented in December 2025, replaces that familiar soundtrack with an electric drivetrain. Lexus is asking what the character of an LFA might become without its combustion engine. [1][2]
The concept has been developed as a battery-electric sports car. Lexus describes a lightweight aluminium construction that shares core ambitions with the GR GT project, and places emphasis on the driver’s position. The aim is not merely acceleration, but an experience in which the car feels like an extension of the driver. That is the manufacturer’s intention, not an independent road test. [1][2]
A name with weight
The design is low and taut, with a long, sculptural profile and a cockpit positioned close to the centre. The press images show a car that communicates direction more than final production specification. [1]
Lexus has not published a sale price or a final delivery date in the material we have reviewed. For that reason, the LFA Concept is a story about development and design, not about a model you can already order. [1][2]
Proportions before specifications
Toyota gives the concept’s dimensions as 4.69 metres long, 2.04 metres wide and just 1.195 metres high. Its wheelbase is 2.725 metres and the cabin seats two. Those numbers make the idea more tangible: this is a wide, low coupe whose proportions put the driving position and aerodynamics ahead of conventional packaging. Lexus has not published a power figure, battery capacity or range. [2]
A cabin gathered around the driver
Inside, the controls and instruments are concentrated around the driver. Lexus highlights a steering wheel intended to be used without repositioning the hands and switches designed to be found by touch. It is useful to separate what the images establish from what the manufacturer promises: we can see the unusually spare cabin, but only a drive would show whether it delivers the claimed closeness between car and driver. [2]
The LFA Concept shows how Lexus imagines this name in an electric car. The company has not announced whether it will become a production model.
